The Italian sandwich was delicious and the homemade hot chocolate the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is simple and unassuming, but the staff friendly and welcoming. I feel like we stumbled on a gem.

The Boxcar is a small, no-nonsense bakery that serves fresh baked goods, ice cream and some lunch offerings like sandwiches. The workers were incredibly nice, offering to make a pot of coffee when I asked for it and telling me to take as much as I wanted. We arrived soon after opening; the two workers seemed a little harried, but I overheard one say she'd been baking since 4am. The true delight was a freshly baked cinnamon roll, which was one of the best I've ever had. It was huge (easily 6in in diameter) and came loaded with butter, sugar and icing (and they asked if I wanted extra butter, which I declined). Delicious! It is a tiny cafe, so there is limited seating inside and out and feels fairly crowded, but a great place to pop in for a treat.

We had the most AMAZING experience. Literally the best cinnamon roll I've ever had! The sausage and cheese biscuit was also fantastic. We got the boxcar coffee special and the honeycomb lavender coffee special and both were really great! We will be back!

Top-notch bakery & cafe featuring sandwiches with freshly baked breads, locally sourced ice cream, cakes, cookies, and more. Ordered an Italian sandwich and a BoxCar chicken sandwich, bowls of chicken enchilada soup, German chocolate cake slice, banana cake slice, sourdough chocolate chip cookies, and ice cream. Clean kitchen and dining area. Tried the chocolate brownie ice cream and a scoop of honey lavender ice cream. I was so excited that there was no dye or extra preservatives or unnecessary ingredients in my desserts. Highly recommended for a meal, snack, or dessert in downtown Guthrie.

We drove up from Norman to eat lunch in Guthrie and, of course, needed a little something sweet to wrap up the meal. We found BOXCAR BAKERY AND ICE CREAM while searching on the web and headed there. The only downfall was it was 1:50p and they closed at 2p on Saturday. we hightailed it there. Got there 1:55p. So many people came behind us and clearly they didnt heed the 2p closing time. I ordered a cinnamon roll and my husband got a chocolate chip cookie. Both these items were scrumptious and huge. Definitely recommended 100x. Sweet, friendly staff and they even have a train whistle to show off your approval when leaving their shop. So fun!

My wife and I tried Boxcar for the first time today and absolutely loved it! Do yourself a favor and try the breakfast quiche sandwich on their homemade toasted Italian bread. Yeah, we will be back for certain! Also try their cinnamon rolls warmed up! They also let us sample the weekly soup which was creamy chicken and rice which was very tasty for the cold rainy day we are experiencing… regret not getting a bowl but the sandwich and cinnamon roll were quite filling. Everything is made from scratch, so please give this locally owned shop a try. Super friendly folks with excellent food!

New Bakery and ice cream shop alert!! Locally owned in Guthrie,Oklahoma. My heart flutters every time I see new businesses opening up in my beloved little city. The owner of this establishment was super adorable. We sampled ice cream,snickerdoidle cookies and left with peanut butter bars, red velvet cake and German chocolate cake. Omg, the cakes were mouth watering . The red velvet still one of my favorites, it was absolutely divine. I definitely will be coming back for ice cream cones as well, but I couldn't resist a good dessert. Go stop by and support this new business,you won't regret it.

Awesome little bakery. They have amazing Soup, Sandwiches, Cookies, Sorbet, ice Cream. Owner is the nicest lady ever. We will be back for sure. Dog friendly outdoor seating.
